TableToSpreadsheet Overview

At first glance, this plugin should look very familiar. It’s basically Excel in your browser. Say goodbye to the aches and pains of the Knack default table. TableToSpreadsheet will provide your users with the experience they’ve been asking for.

In the upper-left corner of the TableToSpreadsheet module, you’ll find a menu of buttons. Including but not limited to undo, redo, export, refresh, and submit. These buttons offer a variety of features, here’s what you’ll be able to do with them:

Undo: Made a mistake? Undoing your last action is as easy as the click of a button, or a hotkey press. No more waiting for the edit modal to submit your data back to your knack database table.
Redo: Need to redo your last undo? No problem. This handy redo makes working with your data a breeze.
Export: Nothing new here, just a quick built-in exportable dataset in .CSV format.
Refresh: Let your users force an update to their on-screen data.
Submit: Process bulk data requests from your front-end table to your back-end controller. All you’ll need is a controller to process your data like a back-end server, Integromat, or Zapier.

Sorting and Searching

One of the biggest pain points for our end-users was needing to search for records with special characters. It’s a bit of a shame how simplistic the default Knack search field can be. In just a few seconds TableToSpreadsheet will search through and filter your entire Knack table. We’ve also built-in sorting functionality that makes sense. To sort your table, just double click on the column headers and have your records sorted correctly. Numerically, or Alphabetically.

Column organization

All of your Knack Table’s columns can be rearranged in any order with a simple click or drag. Each user can manually and independently set a column width that can be adjusted or hidden.

Data Manipulation and Bulk Operations

The TableToSpreadsheet plugin has similar functionality to an excel table, where your users can click and drag records to copy them. Perfect for the veteran Excel user.

Adding and Deleting?

Need to add or delete records? It’s as easy as a right-click to quickly add new items to your database. No more form submission processing. Or waiting for Knack to handle the data requests.

Pagination

As far as displaying your data. A Knack table will typically display a maximum of 1000 records. TableToSpreadsheet will handle more than a thousand of your records with ease, without needing to re-render the view and wait for your records to load.
